About

The High Street Market takes place in Chelmsford High Street every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday offering a traditional shopping experience.

There is fresh bread, cakes and pastries from Brown Bread, or freshly caught fish, lobster and jellied eels supplied by Young’s Fish. Cheese & Pie, a family-run stall, sell varieties of cheeses from brie to black bombers. Another family-run business is Cox the greengrocers, which includes a unique self-service shopping experience.

No High Street market is complete without its street food. You’ll find Caribbean dishes from Jerk Station, authentic German bratwurst sausages and burgers, and authentic vegan and vegetarian falafels cooked before your eyes.

If you're feeling thirsty, Coffee Stop sells over 50 different coffee flavours, plus cool shakes in the summer.

Away from food, John’s flowers boast unique flowers from Holland, which are hard to find in local supermarkets. In addition, the Gowers’ sell a huge variety of beautiful garden plants and sundries.
