Visit Essex member conferences and meetings

Annual conference 14 November 2012
The annual Visit Essex conference was held at Wivenhoe House hotel in Colchester. Visit Essex Chairman George Kieffer welcomed key members of the tourism industry to the conference that was themed around 'Quality Matters'. Speakers included Alan Jenkins, Principal and Stephen Mannock, General Manager of the Edge Hotel School; Laura White, Partnership Manager, 2012 Legacy, Essex County Council; Christine Bellamy, University of Essex talking about Internships; Richard Karn from the Essex Chronicle and Lisa Bone from Visit Essex talked about the 2013 Essex Tourism & Hospitality Awards; Jeremy Brinkworth, Director of Business Development at Visit England spoke about quality in context of the national picture; Mike Newman, Marketing & Recruitment Manager at GTOA gave an insight on 'How to make groups welcome'; Jo Beard from ASK Learn & Develop talked about 'What makes customer service excellent?'.

Members' meeting 25 April 2012
Visit Essex organised a networking event and swap shop at Hylands House in Chelmsford. We updated our members on the activities undertaken during 2011 and our achievements as well as all the marketing opportunities for 2012/13.
We also held a swap shop after the presentations, giving participating members the opportunity to share literature with other members. During the light lunch provided our members took the opportunity to network with others.
