Visit Essex member conferences and meetings

Annual conference 23 November 2011

The annual Visit Essex conference was held at Orsett Hall in Grays. The theme of the conference was 'Maximising Tourism Opportunities for 2012 and Beyond' and was attended by key members of the tourism industry. Speakers included Alex Mawer, Director of Marketing at Visit England and Ken Robinson, former Chair of The Tourism Alliance. The event was hosted by Jeremy Lucas, Essex County Council Cabinet Member and Visit Essex Vice Chairman and George Kieffer, recently appointed interim Vice Chairman of Visit Essex. The topics covered included how businesses can maximise the opportunities of the forthcoming year, leveraging this once in a lifetime opportunity for the good of local attractions and businesses as well as national and regional changes in tourism including the government's recently launched tourism policy.

Members' meeting 25 April 2012

Visit Essex organised a networking event and swap shop at Hylands House in Chelmsford. We updated our members on the activities undertaken during 2011 and our achievements as well as all the marketing opportunities for 2012/13.

We also held a swap shop after the presentations, giving participating members the opportunity to share literature with other members. During the light lunch provided our members took the opportunity to network with others.
