Braintree District Museum

By creativity and skill, the people of the area developed ideas which shaped the life of the 20thC. Gallery exhibits interpret the diverse local industrial heritage, the production of fabrics for state occasions during the past 200 years and innovations in metal window design and man-made textiles in which our district led the world. A natural history gallery tells the story of John Ray, the 17thC naturalist born in the district.
