Southend Pier

With truly stunning 360 views all year long it is the perfect place to go for a taste of the freedom of the sea and invigorating fresh air and it is not difficult to see why Southend Pier was voted ‘Pier of the Year 2007’ by the National Piers Society.

At the Pier Head you can visit the active RNLI station and gift shop, relax and take in the fantastic views from the superb sun-deck or even try your hand at sea fishing (fishing pass available from the Visitor Information Centre). Additionally, elegant pleasure boats, as well as impressive visiting Tall Ships, offer trips and a taste of the nautical life at key times of the year, whilst the Pier’s own busy events calendar means there is often something new to see!

Whilst at the Pier take the opportunity to visit the Southend Pier Museum which offers a fascinating insight into the history of this famous landmark.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Due to ongoing essential works to Southend Pier, which will cause significant disruption and noise, the Pier and Visitor Information Centre will be closed from Monday 18th to Friday 22nd January 2010.

These works will be completed in March and provide for an excellent welcome to visitors and residents as they experience our world famous Pier.

Walk & Ride (walk one way and ride the other or walk both ways): Adult £2.50, Child / OAP / Concessions £1.50, Family £5.50.

Fishing (including train): Adult £3.50, Child / OAP / Concessions £2.50

Children under 3 years are free

Notes	Southend Pier is open every day, all year round, except Christmas Day. From 8:15am until 6:00pm Mon – Fri and to 8:00pm at weekends in spring and autumn. From 8:15am until 8:00pm every day in summer. From 8:15am until 4:00pm Mon-Fri and to 5:00pm at weekends in winter.
