Essex Summer of Art

The Essex Summer of Art is a countywide showcase of art and takes place from May to October 2013. Local artists will be exhibiting their work at art trails and open studios in the county's rural, coastal and urban settings. Taking in painting, photography, ceramics, textile and sculpture, the art trails feature a wide variety of creative talent at both innovative and traditional venues across Essex.

After the excitement of last year’s London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Essex Summer of Art is going from strength to strength. This year we have two new art trails in Harwich and an Essex Schools Art Trail promoting the best of A-Level students artwork. Established art trails are becoming increasingly popular, such as the Leigh Art Trail, Essex’s oldest trail, which is celebrating its 15th year of promoting high quality art.

There is an exciting programme of exhibitions, workshops and activities, offering something for all the family. Enjoy the 2013 Essex Summer of Art and explore the landscapes that have inspired generations of artists.
