Christopher Somerville's Essex

Christopher Somerville is the author of ‘Coast', the accompanying book of the BBC series Coast published last year. He had a strong feeling for Essex before he even set foot in the county thanks to a much loved book of his childhood. The book was ‘Sporting Adventure', in which James Wentworth Day wrote so thrillingly of the Essex marshes and creeks that you could smell the salt and hear the geese.
