Headway Essex Mountain Bike Challenge at Halstead

Headway Essex, the brain injury charity, announces a brand new event for 2017. ‘Off the Beaten Track’ is aimed at mountain bike enthusiasts of all levels and will be held on Saturday 29 April in Halstead, Essex. The event promises something for the whole family, with a ‘Mountain Bike Challenge’ and a ‘Family Explorer Trail’.
Both events will offer a varied terrain with a mixture of off road tracks including flat out fast tracks, wooded and open sections and technical sections. Whatever your ability this event promises to provide a great mix of technical challenges and time to just have fun and enjoy a great ride.
The 'Mountain Bike Challenge' will feature one lap heats lasting around 15 to 20 minutes with a maximum of 20 people per heat. The riders from each group will then be split into A and B group finals of 2 to 3 laps with the top three entries from each final receiving a prize. Entry into the Mountain Bike Challenge is only open to over 16's and is £20 per person.
The ‘Family Explorer Trail’ is open to all ages and is a real adventure trail marked with arrows and includes mini challenges with prizes available. Entry is £15 for adults and £10 for under 16’s or a family ticket (2 adults and 2 children or 1 adult and 3 children) are £40.
All participants of both events will receive a certificate of achievement. All riders must wear cycle helmets; you will not be allowed to compete without one.
