Waltham Abbey EN9 1LG. 8m W of Epping Town.. M25, J26 to Waltham Abbey. At T-lights by McD turn Right to r'about. Take 2nd exit to next r'about. Take 3rd exit (A112) to T-lights. Left to Monkswood Av. Sun 28 May, Sun 3 Sept (12-5.30). Combined adm £5, chd free. Home-made teas at Silver Birches, Quendon Drive. Bacon Sandwiches made to order and homemade cakes available.

Historic Waltham Abbey is near Epping Forest. The Abbey is purported to be last resting place of King Harold. Lee Valley Regional Park is nearby. Silver Birches boasts 3 lawns on 2 levels. This surprisingly secluded garden has many mixed borders packed with all year interest. Mature shrubs and trees create a short woodland walk. Crystal clear water flows through a shady area of the garden. At 39 Halfhides the garden has evolved over 45yrs. It features mixed shrubs and perennial borders on 2 levels. Waterfall linking two ponds leads to shade garden. Alpines thrive on scree and in troughs. Beautiful autumn colour. 76 Monkswood Ave is a plantswoman's garden . Mixed borders filled with specimen trees, shrubs and perennials incl asters, dahlias and late-flowering anemones. Wildlife pond. 62 Eastbrook Rd: No Parking in Eastbrook Rd. Off Honey Lane, walking distance from Halfhides and The Glade Way approx. 7 mins. This is a small cottage garden, traditional perennial planting, topiary and circular themed hard landscaping.. Reclaimed chimney pots for sale as planters.. 62 Eastbrook Rd not suitable for wheelchairs.

By Road:
From the M25, exit at junction 26 and join the A121. At the roundabout turn right which will take you over a bridge spanning the M25. At the second set of traffic lights approach in the left hand lane and go straight on. At the third set of lights move into the right hand lane and go straight on. At the roundabout, take the first left which will take you into the car park for Abbey Gardens.
A large car park is available on sit, seven days a week. Seasonal closing time apply.
