The Cookery School at Braxted Park, near Witham in Essex, combines a stunning location with award-winning chefs and a diverse range of cookery courses and experiences to suit all abilities. We aspire to provide a high quality service and a culinary experience never to be forgotten.

Perfect for corporate hospitality and food fanatics alike, it is the ideal way to learn new skills from the some of the country's finest chefs; William Grinsted, Mark David, Emma Crowhurst and Peter Bayless to name just a few.

Our cookery experiences are full days and include expert tuition, all ingredients, recipe folder and complimentary apron. Classes include Moroccan Feast, French Patisserie, Indian Street Food and Artisan Bread. We also offer seasonal classes showcasing local Essex produce and producers. Our most popular local culinary experience is The Essex Coastline, Seasonal Fish & Shellfish; a celebration of the wonderful array of fish and shellfish caught off the Essex Coastline.

Directions to The Cookery School at Braxted Park


From London/Chelmsford
• Travel northbound on the A12 towards Colchester/Ipswich
• Leave the A12 at turn off Silver End/Rivenhall End (just after junction 22 for Witham
• At the end of the road turn right onto Henry Dixon Road and continue forward onto Braxted Road
• You will then pass over a humpback bridge
• When you see the wall that surrounds the Estate – follow signs for the Estate rather than the golf course
• Follow the road and the entrance to the Estate is on your left (straight after a bend). There is a blue sign on the right signposted you to turn in on the left.
• Continue down the drive towards the house and having turned right at the fork in front of the house, park on the right hand side car park
• Walk back towards the house, the Cookery School is on the right at the top of the steps.


From Colchester/Ipswich
• Travel southbound on the A12 towards Chelmsford/London
• After Junction 23 for Kelvedon take the next exit for Silver End/Rivenhall End
