Hylands House on the outskirts of Chelmsford in Essex is the most beautiful example of a Grade II listed building. With 574 acres of extensive parkland, the Hylands Estate gives children the freedom to explore different wildlife habitats and enjoy learning in the outdoors. Visits can be combined with the House, where pupils learn about the owners and their lifestyles during the Victorian period. Packages are linked to the National Curriculum KS1 and KS2 in Geography, Science, History and Citizenship.

OPENING TIMES: April to September, Sunday and Monday 1000-1700. October to March, Sunday 1000-1600. Guided tours can be accommodated from Monday to Friday throughout the year.

Free preliminary visit for teacher, classroom/study area, welcome talk and demonstrations available, guided tours, outdoor eating area available.
