Wivenhoe Park,

Christine Walkden is a television presenter, and The One Show's 'resident gardening guru'. She was also a great friend of Beth Chatto and is a patron of the Beth Chatto Education Trust.

We are delighted that she has agreed to speak at our next unmissable talk in June, which will raise funds for the Trust.

Christine has been a horticulturist since the age of ten when she first obtained an allotment and started growing vegetables and flowers, which she sold to her school teachers and local residents.

She was told by teachers that she would 'ne'er do well' but she's proven them all wrong with her incredible gardening knowledge and broadcasting accolades and will be talking about her garden path to success!

She has been on BBC's Gardeners World and on two of her own series on BBC 2, Christines' Garden. She also broadcasts on local and national radio and is a past winner of the Garden Writers Guild Radio Broadcasting Award.
