John Constable

Wivenhoe Park,

As part of the Heritage Open Days weekend on September 9 and 10 Wivenhoe House is inviting artists to set up their easels in its beautiful grounds and paint.

Wivenhoe Park is famous around the world as the subject of John Constable’s 1816 painting now hanging in the National Gallery of Art, Washington DC.

The view of the House, now a luxury four-star hotel, remains largely unchanged and this is an opportunity to create your own masterpiece or paint your own version of Constable’s original work.

For further details or to book your place please contact Heather Leathley on hleath@essex.ac.uk or visit the events page at www.wivenhoehouse.co.uk.
