About

The Galvin Green Man pub, near Great Waltham, Chelmsford is an award winning, Mitchelin Bib Gourmand pub and restaurant from the acclaimed chefs and restaurateurs Chris and Jeff Galvin. Set in 1.5 acres of riverside meadow, amidst beautiful countryside with the river Chelmer flowing at the bottom of the gardens, the Galvin Green Man marks a return home for Essex-born Chris and Jeff.

In 2022 they were awarded Best Pub in East of England at the National Pub & Bar Awards and the menu is focused on local-sourced ingredients, classic pub dishes and craft ales.

Dating back to 1341 it is one of the oldest pubs in Essex, with the original part of the pub being lovingly restored to its former glory. A great place to catch up with family, friends or colleagues.
