Situated near Braintree in Essex, Blake House Craft Centre is one of the region's true hidden gems. Once a traditional farmyard, with buildings used as stables, cattle sheds and cart lodges, this wonderful site has been transformed into a vibrant and flourishing craft centre which houses a wide range of small local businesses.

A beautiful Essex barn forms the centrepiece of a cluster of sympathetically restored 18th and 19th century listed buildings. This delightful environment hosts a variety of individual shops and workshops where you can buy unusual and attractive wares.

Bring your group to wander around the fine variety of art and craft shops in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, where there really is something for everyone! There are so many shops offering products that you just won't find anywhere else, from a basket of flowers to ballet shoes, from dolls houses to designer kids clothing and from electric guitars to elegant fabrics, you can treat yourself or find the perfect gift. Once you've looked around the shops, enjoy a bite to eat in our restaurant and then test your wits against the maize maze challenge! Open 19th July - 14th September 2014 (weather pending). Join us on facebook for regular updates: www.facebook.com/greatmaze

You can also test your putting skills on our fantastic Minigolf course. Challenge your friends and family to a round of crazy golf on our 9 hole course. Clubs and balls are available for hire along with your own score card.

Our licensed restaurant "Timbers' is housed in an 18th century listed corn barn and like the other buildings, has an 'olde worlde' charm that you are sure to fall in love with. If you're after a morning coffee, lunchtime snack, afternoon tea, a full restaurant meal, live band, themed night entertainment or a private venue, Timbers is the place to choose. Please call 01376 552553 for bookings and details of coach party menus.
