New Hall Vineyards

Chelmsford Road,

New Hall Vineyard is an English Wine Producer with over 65 hectares of vines and is one of the oldest and largest in the country. It was first established by the Greenwood family, in the Essex village of Purleigh, back in 1969. The grape vines grown at New Hall were carefully selected and have been planted only 12m to 24m above sea level, on well-sheltered, southern facing slopes of a shallow valley. Over the years this site has proven itself to be an almost ideal place, for the growing of vines in England, producing, above average crops of high quality grapes with naturally high sugars, each year.
In 2011 New Hall lead Essex & East Anglia to be the best wine region in England. In 2011 New Hall Vineyards won four gold medals out only seven awarded in this year's Annual English & Welsh Wine of the Year Competition. New Hall Vineyards won the following trophies:
Jack Ward Memorial Salver 2011
The most outstanding large scale English Wine produced in England in 2011 - Med/Dry Bacchus 2010

The East Anglian Wine of the Year Trophy 2011
For the best English Wine produced in 2011 from East Anglia - Med/Dry Pinot Noir Rose 2010

The East Anglian Pink Rose Trophy 2011
For the best English Rose Wine produced in 2011 from East Anglia - Med/Dry Pinot Noir Rose 2010
