We are an award-winning, family friendly Museum which brings together a rich sense of local and world history under one roof. One of the oldest Museums in Britain, the collection holds something for all the family, from stone axes to Samurai armour, Saxon riches to shields, spears and swords. Take the opportunity to come face-to-face with Wallace the Lion from the famous poem 'The Lion and Albert', see a glove given away by Mary Queen of Scots on the eve of her execution, and meet an Ancient Egyptian Mummy. We also have a programme of temporary exhibitions and themed family events and activities that run throughout the year. Under 18s FREE!
Situated in green fields and sat proudly alongside the ruins of a Norman Castle, the Museum is just a stone's throw away from the centre of the medieval market town, where you can shop, eat, relax and explore!
Adults £1.50, Discounts 75p, Children (18 and under) FREE.
