Details

Wander around ten acres of peaceful gardens, which contain a nut walk, stew pond, walled garden and rare clock tower. Inside the Grade I listed, 16th-century manor house, you can visit eight principal rooms for an extra fee. The rooms contain paintings, furniture and other Petre family memorabilia, amassed over the centuries. Supplement for entrance to Hall: adults £2, senior citizens and students £1, children aged 5-16 £3.00.

A12 to Ingatestone village. From the London end of the High Street, take Station Lane. Go over the level crossing and continue for 0.5 mile. Designated parking is about 200 yards from the house.

By Public Transport:
From Ingatestone station it is 0.75 miles to Ingatestone Hall.

  • It is a Tudor House with the limitations that that imposes. The House is some 200m from the main entrance and car park. By arrangement cars can come up the drive to drop off passengers. Within the house there are many changes in level and ill lit and poor contrasting areas.
