Details

Great Bardfield Cottage Museum is a small Museum, recently refurbished, set in a sixteenth century former alms-house. It traces the history of this rural parish through story-boards and displays of artefacts, paper records and photographs. Connections are made with Medieval and Tudor England, rural crafts such as straw-plaiting, agricultural tools and methods and the Bardfield Artists Edward Bawden, John Aldridge and Eric Ravilious.
The Museum is open from Easter Saturday to the end of September on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays. Admission is free but donations are very welcome.
