Saffron Screen is a not for profit independent cinema. Its professional auditorium boasts a full size screen, 200 cinema seats, and Dolby Digital surround sound. It screens a wide range of films, hosts Q&As and streams international cultural events including theatre, opera, ballet and concerts. Saffron Screen seeks, through film, to entertain, educate, create a shared experience and improve the quality of life for everyone in Saffron Walden and the surrounding area.

Opening details

We are open every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, with additional screenings in school holidays, showing a range of mainstream, independent, art-house and children's films. In addition, we stream cultural events (ballet, opera, theatre) from around the world. The cinema, which opened in 2006, has a comfortable 200 seat auditorium with a wide screen and full surround sound. We offer refreshments and free parking. Alcohol is served every Friday & Saturday night and at most event cinema screenings.
