Latchingdon is a village in the Dengie Peninsula and mentioned in the Doomsday Book of 1086. The village features a garage, a primary school, The Red Lion Inn, a village hall, a motel, a bowls club and St. Michael's Church which was built in 1618.

The village is close to the city of Chelmsford and the towns of South Woodham Ferrers, Maldon and Burnham-on-Crouch.
