About

Stow Maries is a small village in the Maldon District and in the Dengie Peninsula. The village is largely known due to Stow Maries Aerodrome - thought to be the only surviving World War One aerodrome in the world. The aerodrome regularly holds events and shows throughout the year including some flying days.

The village itself - which is close to the towns of Maldon, Chelmsford and South Woodham Ferrers - has an antiques shop, one public house,-The Prince of Wales, a village hall, and a golf and country club. The Church of St. Mary and St. Margaret was built in the 14th century and has been added to over the centuries.
