Details

A unique opportunity to visit two of Essex's most treasured attractions. Visit the UK's only active WWI aerodrome, followed by a visit to the UK's oldest commercial vineyard and learn about the wonderful world of English wine production. A fully inclusive day including lunch, wine tasting and a cheese platter.

After being introduced to the team at Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome, you will be taken on a guided tour of the site, including the history of the aerodrome, the aircraft in their hanger, its wildlife and the exciting ongoing work of its restoration.

Two films will be shown in the Mess about Stow Maries followed by a two course lunch. There will be free time to wander the site and shop before you depart for New Hall Vineyard around 2pm.

Enjoy a guided stroll around the oldest commercial family-run vineyard in the UK and find out how to establish a vineyard. Unravel the mysteries of riddling, disgorging, lees-aging and gushing Traditional-Method Sparkling Wine in our Press Room.

Become an instant wine connoisseur with a tutored tasting of four wines including our renowned Bacchus.

Explore the mysteries and art of tasting. Find out how we produce award-winning wines from pressing the fruit to running the ferments, in our state-of-the-art winery. There is even the option to purchase your favourite from the tasting session at discounted rates.
