The Ideas Festival Chelmsford at Ideas Hub

The Ideas Festival provides a range of cultural events covering; arts, heritage, technology and much more. The festival will run on the 22nd of October to the 12th of November aiming to grow the Chelmsford community and inspire by the festivals innovative events, talk and workshops in and around the centre of Chelmsford.
The events are free for the community and we will be opening the festival with a bang by having a Little Monsters Parade starting at The Ideas Hub, where families will have a chance to create their own masks in the theme of Halloween and then parade through the City Centre ending back at The Ideas Hub where there will be a range of live music, dancing, poetry, salsa and more!
Another event that we will be holding as part of The Ideas Festival will be Rain Activated Art, the public will have a chance to get involved in workshops on the 7th and 9th of November to create designs and/or poetry for the installation, the final deigns will be sprayed onto the pavements of Chelmsford with special 'Rainworks' paint, which is invisible until it is activated by rain.
On Thursday 27th of October there will be a live cinema performance with Cambridge Concert Orchetra to mark the centenary of the First World War Battle of the Somme.
There is a formal launch event for The Ideas Festival on the 24th of October also at The Anglia Ruskin University with a talk by Paul Jerram, Chief Engineer for Space Imaging at e2v discussing how e2v is protecting planet earth.
These are just a few events that we are holding so there will be plenty of time to enjoy, debate and learn something new!
