Details
Let off steam at these great new kids’ activity days! Under supervision from our friendly volunteers, come and have a go at operating the crossing gates, be a train guard for a day or learn how the signals work in our historic signal box. You can ride our classic diesel train as well.
Due to us being a working railway yard, all kids must be accompanied by one adult who will be admitted FREE. Any additional adults should pay normal admission. Please make sure the kids wear old clothes (they WILL get dirty!) and sturdy shoes. Places are strictly limited so everyone gets a go at everything – pre-booking is essential.
Although the museum is virtually fully accessible, due to us being at a functioning railway station, visitors using wheel chairs will need the assistance of a carer to navigate the separate accessible entrance and security gate on the opposite side of the rail track.
