Details

Soak up the atmosphere and fest your eyes on some great classic cars, vintage motorbikes and modern head turners, we’ll have over one hundred classic vehicles at this great family day out.

You can ride on steam trains and vintage buses all day long for FREE and our friends from the Braintree & Halstead Model Railway Club will have their layouts open for viewing.

Look ‘behind the scenes’ in our Restoration Shed where friendly volunteers are always on hand and happy to chat to visitors about our on-going restoration projects. The museum shop stocks a wide range of merchandise, perfect for that special gift or souvenir.

You’re welcome to bring a picnic to eat on the field and the kids can enjoy the train-themed play area. The Chappel Station Cafe will be serving breakfast, light lunches, delicious home-made cakes and cream teas in the vintage dining car and our miniature pub, The Viaduct (probably the smallest in Essex!) stocks a good range of local beers, unusual ciders, wine and soft drinks.

If you would like to exhibit your classic vehicle, please get in touch.
