One of the finest nature reserves in Essex, with 125 acres of woodlands and lakes by the Colne estuary. Superb nature trails and 8 hides. Many species of birds, insects and wild flowers flourish here. Regular special events. Visitor centre with gift shop. Groups of 10 or more must book in advance. Coach parking available. Tearoom offering light snacks, hot and cold drinks. Toilets and bird hides available for people with disabilities. Registered charity
