Light Show - 2016

Light Show - 2016

High Street,

The Council has teamed up with local independent arts collective Buffalo Tank for a second year running to light up Colchester Castle with a spectacular cutting edge projection light show called ‘Back At The Future’.

We don’t want to give too much away but the story will take you on a journey through Colchester’s history, from the Witchfinder General and Queen Boudicca to Celts, Romans and World War II and then a jump into the future!

The Castle’s east wall will be transformed with light, creating a new scene from the existing architecture that will immerse the audience into the time travelling journey using elements of 3D projection mapping, archive footage and animation to create an experience that Colchester has not seen before.

There will be up to six, twelve minute shows between 6/6.30pm and 8.30pm each day. Tickets for the light show are £3 adult / £2 child, or you can make more of the evening’s entertainment with a joint ticket for the light show and Colchester Castle for £6 adults / £4 child.
