Big Data, Big Brother? at University of Essex: Colchester Campus
Lecture, Thu 17 Nov 2016
Do organisations know too much about us? With our personal data being worth more than ever before, come and explore issues about privacy, consent and ethics in the digital age.
Speakers include: Shami Chakrabarti (Chancellor of the University of Essex and former Director of Liberty), Gus Hosein (Executive Director, Privacy International), Andrew Stott (former Director for Transparency and Digital Engagement for the UK government and member of the Public Sector Transparency Board).
This event is part of a series of free talks to discuss the implications of Big Data and what it means for you and society, hosted by three of the Big Data projects at the University of Essex.
These non-profit projects are funded by the Economic and Social Research Council to lead the way in Big Data and social science research.
