Southend Marine Activities Centre

Eastern Esplanade,

The Southend Marine Activities Centre is in a fantastic beach side location on Southend's Eastern Esplanade and is an excellent venue for a wide variety of water, beach and land-based opportunities.

The Centre now has recently been modernised which means we can offer very enhanced facilities for school groups, with more changing space and lots of new boats.

We can cater for up to forty five people engaged in watersports activity at any one time.

One of the nicest things about bringing your group to the Southend Marine Activities Centre is that we don't have a "take it or leave it" attitude to programming, but tailor each visit to suit the needs of the group involved.

If a specific activity is not mentioned please do not assume that we can't, or won't try to help you with it. Over the years, many of the activities we now offer have been developed as a result of co-operation between the Centre and an individual school.

In addition to work within the mainstream curriculum, activities are used for many purposes, including the Duke of Edinburgh scheme, to challenge or motivate, or as part of an industry day.

In short, if you have an idea for an outdoor project which you can't deliver alone, please talk to us. Even if we can't deliver the goods, its a good bet that we know somebody who can....

What activities does the centre offer?

The Centre can offer a wide range of water and beach based activities on its own site in addition to orienteering using one of our local parks or the Hadleigh Castle Country Park.

The Centre is well regarded a specialist provider of outdoor activities and is accredited with the British Canoe Union and Royal Yachting Association. The Centre is also licensed as a provider of watersports activities.
