Remembrance will be the subject of Witham Choral Society’s concert at 7.30 p.m. on Saturday 12 November at the United Reformed Church, Newland Street.
Musical Director Patrick McCarthy will be conducting excerpts from Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man, Mendelssohn’s Hear My Prayer and other remembrance music.
Chairman Anne Priest told us: “The Armed Man is one of my favourite choral pieces. It is tuneful and moving and so appropriate for our ‘Lest we forget’ theme. And we are lucky enough to have the distinguished Paul Lockyer to play the cello solos.”
Patrick mentioned: “Wendy Watkins will be featured in Hear My Prayer which includes the well-known and much-loved O for the Wings of a Dove.”
The Witham branch of The British Legion will be participating in the concert with one of their members doing one of the readings.
