Great Notley Country Park

About

Great Notley is centred around the six-acre village green which is the venue for a variety of different activities including cricket on the square. Thirty six semi-mature English oak trees encircle the green in a traditional manner, with the family homes beyond them benefitting from superb views of this time honoured village scene.

Local amentities include is a Tesco's supermarket, a pub and a veterinary centre and two shcools - White Court Primary School and Great Notely Primary School within the garden village. Situated close to Braintree, Great Notely is a desitnation of choice due to the Discovery Centre and Great Notley Country Park. Great Notley revealed the remains of Iron Age and Roman settlements with a series of enclosures overlaid with a Roman development on the site of the Skyline Business Park. It is thought that there was a series of occupations on the site from the late Iron Age onwards,

The 100 acre country park can be reached by an underpass from the middle of the village or by crossing at the Tesco roundabout. It contains two lakes, stunning views from the top of Notley Bowl and lovely countryside walks. It also has one of the largest adventure play areas in the region and is great for a day out with the kids.
