You can fish, play games, fly kites, have a picnic, cycle or ride your horse here. You may prefer just to sit by the tranquil waters, feeding the birds or, in spring to wander quietly through a woodland carpet of bluebells. With easy access from the M25 this is an ideal spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of London.

Pay and display: Cars: full day ticket £2; Tax exempt vehicles - no charge; Motorcycles - no charge; Coaches - £15.

Excess charge for failure to display a valid ticket - £60 (reduced to £30 if paid within 14 days).

Season tickets available.

Visitor centre and shop where light refreshments, gifts and information can be obtained. Toilets and baby changing facilities. Picnic areas. Day tickets for fishing are available on the bank: Adult £5.00, Concessions £2.50. Associated clubs which meet regularly at Belhus Wood country park include The West Essex Bowmen Archery Club, The Docklands and East London Model Engineering Society (model steam trains) and the Grays Thurrock Model Boat Club.

Reasonably level site with good access for wheelchair users. Fishing platforms available for less-able anglers. Key available on deposit.

There are a variety of events run throughout the year including wildflower walks, night time bat walks, and charcoal making.

By road: The park is situated off the Romford Road which connects Aveley to Upminster and is approximately 3 miles north of Lakeside and the Dartford Tunnel. By bus: The 373 service from Grays to Romford passes the park where there is a request stop every half hour. By rail: Upminster station is about 3 miles from the Park.
