Walks and rides around North East Essex
Among the many attractive towns on the Essex Sunshine Coast is Harwich an ancient, seafaring town with well-preserved Napoleonic period fort. It is more than just a port it contains a wealth of historic heritage. You can discover the delights of Harwich by touring the ‘Harwich Maritime Trail' which includes sixteen sites of historic interest. Amongst them is the Electric Palace Cinema, one of the oldest purpose-built cinemas to survive complete with its silent screen, original projection room and ornamental frontage still intact.
The Essex Sunshine Coast is also know as the Tendring Peninsula. It has more than 36 miles of coastline and long sandy beaches which have received six Quality Coast Awards and three Blue Flag Awards in 2010. It is the ideal location for the perfect summer holiday.
Away from the coast there is a wealth of beautiful and picturesque towns & villages to discover and explore. The area's towns & villages boast a range of beautiful gardens and floral displays and have an excellent award-winning record in Anglia in Bloom as well as award-winning glorious seafront gardens.
