Essex is extremely well connected if you’re visiting from overseas. It is home to two airports: the award-winning Southend Airport and the globally connected Stansted Airport, with both short and long haul flights.
Southend Airport
The airport terminal at Southend is easy to navigate and the security queues are the fastest in the UK, leaving you with more time to explore what Essex has to offer. It’s no wonder that it has been voted the UK’s best airport by Which? from 2013-2019 consecutively. Enjoy the hassle free and relaxed airport experience.
Southend Airport is served by its own train station, just metres from the entrance. There are up to 6 direct trains per hour, travelling into the centre of Southend or towards Chelmsford and London.

Stansted Airport
Stansted airport is well connected, with short and long haul flights to destinations all over the world. It is conveniently located a stone's throw from the M11 and has regular bus services to Chelmsford city centre, and its own train station served by Abellio Greater Anglia’s Stansted Express service. Both the train and bus stations are located within a two-minute walk of the airport terminal for your convenience and taxis can pick you up from right outside the terminal.
Stansted has a variety of duty-free shops and restaurants to keep you entertained whilst waiting for your flights, so you can relax and treat yourself.
