Venture along tree-lined avenues that sweep down to the beautiful Esplanade and cliff-top greensward, linked with a rainbow of Victorian-style beach huts. Relax on the sandy and secluded Frinton Beach, travel the short way into the neighbouring town of Harwich, or head to the city of Colchester for a spot of shopping.

There are many family friendly things to do near Frinton-on-Sea. Head to Clacton Pier for a day filled with thrilling rides and exciting games, or Harwich for a Harbour Ferry Boat Ride. Brightlingsea Museum has something for visitors of all ages, with amazing displays and a surprise around every corner. Head to Walton-on-the-Naze for fossil hunting – you might come across some shark teeth on the beach!

Events and Festivals Near Frinton-on-Sea

Since 1934 Frinton Summer Theatre has been entertaining visitors with proffessional reporatory theatre on the Essex coast. Every summer Frinton's historic McGrigor Hall transforms into an intimate, 200-seat theatre offering a vibrant season of weekly changing productions finishing with a musical in a magnificent Big Top Tent right on the Frinton-on-Sea Greensward.

There are also many wonderful events that take place across the Tendring District and Colchester Borough, all of which are within a short drive from Frinton-on-Sea. Perhaps one of the biggest annual events in the Tendring area is the Clacton Airshow, which is free to attend on the seafront of Clacton each August, featuring dynamic aerial displays. If you’re happy to travel slightly further to the city of Colchester, you’ll find fantastic events and festivals being hosted throughout the year. Attend music festivals such as the Anti Loo Roll Festival, Colchester Pride, or one of the many food and drink festivals.
