About

A stunning Essex village just outside the city of Chelmsford yet retaining a distinctly rural feel and with a deep history.

Primarily an unspoilt farming village, its quiet main street is lined with original houses, quaint pub, shops, medieval church, memorial hall and thriving school. The village dates back at least 600 years, with some properties still retaining original features from that period.

Visitors can enjoy rural walks through the beautiful countryside and fine food and drink in local establishments. There is a real community feel with lots to see and do,

Roxwell is also home to Newland Hall, a picturesque and unique wedding venue surrounded by enchanting woodland and delightful countryside.

The village is approximately 4 miles (6 km) west from the centre of the county town of Chelmsford, and to the south of the A1060 road, on which are the parish hamlets of Boyton Cross and Chalk End.
