Situated next to Great Waltham, Little Waltham is a lovely village on the River Chelmer (which you can walk alongside via a footpath). There is a pub at the centre of the village as well as a cricket ground that houses the village team.
Little Waltham is also home to the Channels Estate, offering fine dining, function rooms and accommodation as well as a 9-hole pay and play or membership golf course at Little Channels.
Little Waltham Meadows has beautiful footpaths leading through the reserve. You can wander through the meadows and take in the views of the grazing animals in the spring, summer and autumn. There is a small car park and walk that can be accessed via Back Lane, Little Waltham. The reserve is maintained by Essex Wildlife Trust.
Around a mile away from Little Waltham, Great Waltham is a quaint village to visit. It is far from the hustle and bustle of Chelmsford city centre and offers two pubs, a post office and two churches. Great Waltham is also home to the award winning Galvin Green man restaurant, It is set in the beautiful Essex countryside, in a building dating back to 1341 and boasts panoramic views and an extensive garden.
