A footpath at High Woods Country Park leading out of the woods into an open field. A lake is in the distance.

About

Now more than ever the true value of trees is being recognised in helping to tackle climate change and restore habitats. And at a time when trees are also facing the threat of newly imported pests and diseases, one important factor for the survival of some species is diversity of stock. Growing seeds from healthy UK trees on home soil is the way forward. Join us to gather seeds, fruits and nuts to grow trees for planting as part of the Colchester Woodland Project. Pots and soil provided so you can grow on the seeds then look out for events in 2 and 3 years time to come along to and plant the trees you and your family have nurtured.

Meet at High Woods Country Park, meet outside the Visitor Centre
