As well as a tradition for producing excellent produce Essex has also produced a number of award-winning and celebrity chefs. Most famous of these is Jamie Oliver, who also now resides in the county and the Michelin starred Galvin Brothers who own the Galvin Green Man near their home town of Chelmsford.
The Galvin Brothers
Born in Essex, Chris and Jeff, are the only brothers in the world to both hold Michelin Stars. After launching their first restaurant in 2005, they now own five leading restaurants in London. Back home in Essex they’ve launched a stylish Pub & Restaurant, Galvin Green Man near Chelmsford, which has been awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand, 2 AA Rosettes and a Catey for best Pub & Bar in the UK.
