About

Mersea Island Holiday Park | Discover Essex's hidden island escape

Cross the causeway onto Mersea Island and you'll instantly feel the pace slow down. Surrounded by the Blackwater Estuary, this charming island is all about fresh sea air, peaceful beaches and making time for the moments that matter.

Tucked away beside Cudmore Grove Country Park, Mersea Island Holiday Park is the perfect base for exploring one of Essex's best-kept secrets. Spend your days strolling along the coastline, discovering scenic walking trails, spotting wildlife or simply relaxing on the beach with your favourite people.

If your four-legged friend is joining the adventure, they'll be right at home too. With miles of coastal walks, dog-friendly beaches and plenty of open space to explore, Mersea Island is a paradise for pups as well as people.

Whether you're planning a family holiday, a romantic escape or a relaxing weekend away, you'll find everything you need for a memorable coastal break.

Facilities

There's plenty to enjoy without even leaving the park. Take a swim in the indoor heated pool, let the little ones burn off some energy in the adventure playground, or unwind with food and drinks at The Muddy Duck Clubhouse. You'll also find a well-stocked shop, laundry facilities and direct access to the beach and slipway, making it easy to make the most of your stay. Seasonal entertainment and activities add even more fun throughout the year.

Accommodation

From comfortable caravans to unique exclusive stays, there's an accommodation option for every type of getaway and every budget.

Looking for something a little special? Stay in the stylish TriBeCa, inspired by New York loft living, unwind in the exclusive Oyster Cottage with its guaranteed private hot tub, or enjoy the character and comfort of The Heartwood.

Many of our accommodation options also feature private hot tubs, perfect for relaxing beneath the stars after a day exploring the island.

We also offer fully accessible accommodation, with ramp access, a spacious layout and a wet room designed to help everyone enjoy a comfortable stay.

If you're happiest sleeping under canvas, our spacious grass camping pitches are available during the summer holidays, giving you access to the park's facilities, including the indoor pool and The Muddy Duck Clubhouse.

Explore Mersea Island and Beyond

Mersea Island is famous for its fresh seafood, colourful beach huts and relaxed coastal charm. Tuck into locally caught oysters, enjoy a glass of English wine at the nearby vineyard or spend the afternoon wandering along the shoreline.

Just a short drive away, historic Colchester offers Roman history, independent shops, family attractions and one of the UK's best zoos, making Mersea Island the perfect base for exploring both the Essex coast and countryside.

After one visit, you'll understand why so many of our guests return year after year. Once you've discovered the magic of Mersea Island, you'll already be planning your next escape.
