Explore the Hidden Estuaries of Essex

Join us for a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in nature as we explore the remote creeks and inlets of the Crouch and Roach estuaries—some of the most secluded and wildlife-rich areas in the region.

What You’ll Experience

  • Wildlife Encounters: Spot a wide variety of estuary birds including Avocet, Curlew, Marsh Harrier, Kestrel, and even Short-eared Owls. Regular sightings also include Common and Atlantic Grey Seals—and occasionally Harbour Porpoise.
  • Expert Guidance: Some of our trips are accompanied by knowledgeable RSPB guides who offer fascinating insights into the local ecology and help identify bird and seal species.
  • Seasonal Highlights: March, April, September, and October are especially rich in birdlife, with frequent sightings of waders and wildfowl such as Teal, Wigeon, Shoveler, and Shelduck.
