About

Responding to the psychological impact of the global pandemic and the physical restrictions of lockdown, On The Island is a series of 100 short videos depicting Daniel & Clara in the landscapes of Mersea Island, Essex, where they've been living since March 2020.

Filmed during their permitted 1 hour daily walks, On The Island captures a series of moments of deep engagement with the landscapes and weather through that strange year when we all found ourselves confined to our local environments.

Join us at Jaywick Martello Tower at 1pm on Sat 30th July to meet the artist and find out more about the making of this work.
