About

The Lee Valley White Water Centre is a great spot for you to bond with your own team, or with clients, to challenge and to reward. Your team members will rise to any task when they’ve tackled our world class rapids together, and, of course, we’ll keep everyone safe, with our expert guides. We’ll help you celebrate afterwards too with a buffet or barbecue. With our top notch on site meeting facilities you can combine work and play. And if you’d rather watch others battling the white water, you can soak up the inspiring atmosphere or book one of our Dry Land Activities, without actually getting a soaking!

During the White Water Rafting sessions you will ride the rapids of the grade 4 London 2012 Olympic course in a 9 person raft. Each session lasts for two hours. In the first hour you will meet your guide who will go through a safety briefing and raft assessment all rafters must complete. During the second hour your raft guide will steer the raft onto the long conveyor belt, which will bring you into the Olympic Course start pool.

Your first run of the white water course will be a relatively quick top to bottom descent designed to get you used to the feel of the boat.

White Water Rafting
The raft guide will constantly be assessing your thirst for adventure and running the session accordingly – runs along the Olympic course are determined by how adventurous everyone is. On average, you will have three to four runs on the course.

Raft Building
How would your group cope if shipwrecked on a desert island? Here’s your chance to find out. We give you barrels, planks and ropes and you
have to pull together to create a raft that could carry you to safety. We’ll split you into teams to ramp up the competition: the first to make
it across the lake wins. It helps break the ice, encourages bonding and is soaking great fun.

Water Wipe Out
Turn gladiator on our 18 metre waterborne inflatable obstacle course. Notch up wins or wettings as an individual or part of a team when we set you various challenges. Sessions last for an hour.

Kayaking
Our lake is as big as two football pitches so there’s plenty of room for you to wield your paddle and get a kick out of kayaking. We provide kayaks, buoyancy aids and safety helmets; you provide the fun.

Dry Land Activities
Teams will be tested on their Skills, Intelligence, Creativity and Cooperation. Choose both land and water activities or just land activities if you’d rather stay dry. May the best team win!

Hydrospeeding
Really feel the thrill of the rapids with this fun and physical white water challenge. A hydrospeed is a cross between a bodyboard and the floats you use when learning to swim. You’ll use this and your own power to carve, turn and surf through every twist and turn of our 160 metre Legacy Loop - the second white water channel at the venue. Build up your confidence and really start to play with the current. Hour and a half sessions include an activity assessment to check you’re fit to take part. Bring your swimmers and we’ll provide the rest of the kit.

Hot Dogs
Hot Dogs are a two-person inflatable kayak. You’ll feel every thrill, spill, twist and turn of the rapids as you grow in confidence, until you’re ready to tackle the whole 160m course like a pro!
