About

16th C. manor house built by Sir William Petre, Secretary of State to four Tudor monarchs, and still occupied by his descendants. The house substantially retains its original form and appearance (including two priests hiding places) and contains furniture, pictures and memorabilia accumulated over the centuries. Guided tours of the house and grounds for pre-booked groups at any time of the year (subject to other diary commitments). The tour takes 1.5 to 2 hours - and by prior arrangement, refreshments or light meals are available.
