COVID-19 update: 30 June 2021

Maldon Splash Park will be open from July 1 2021 for the summer season! 

While the Splash Park has been closed, a dedicated team of staff have been working hard behind the scenes to ensure that it is in good running order for the summer season. 

Please check out the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) below ahead of your visit for lots of useful info including how to book your tickets.

What time do you open? 

The first session will open at 11am every day unless we are forced to close due to mechanical failure, bad weather, or an emergency.  

If we close during a public session; this will be announced on Facebook and via this webpage.  


What time do you close? 

The last session is at 5pm meaning facility closes at 5.30 every day unless there is a private booking for a later slot or the team on site decides to keep it open later due to good weather conditions.  

We may be forced to close early due to mechanical issues, bad weather, or an emergency.  

Any unexpected closures will be announced on Facebook and via this webpage. 


How much does it cost? 

Child tickets cost £3.25 each per session.  

Adults can enter for free, but they must be accompanied by a child.  

Babies carried by a parent can also enter for free.

Where can I park? 

Pay and Display parking (which includes disabled parking) is available in Promenade Park. Details for these can be found at Parking - Visit Maldon (


Are there toilets on site? 

Yes, there are public toilets (including disabled access toilets) located next to the Splash Park by the Petting Zoo. 

If you have an ‘accident’, please speak to a member of staff for help. 


What is your clothing policy? 

All visitors must wear appropriate swimwear. 

Younger visitors must wear a swim nappy. 


Can I take photos? 

Yes, you can take photos of your friends and family. If you see someone taking photos who you suspect is behaving inappropriately, please speak to a member of staff.


Can I bring my dog/pet? 

Dogs and pets are not allowed within the fenced area of the Valley Play Area, Splash Park and Beach Huts at any time, except for assistance dogs.


Is the Splash Park / Beach Huts accessible for those with disabilities? 

Yes, the Splash Park has step-free access throughout. 

A wheelchair is available on request for use in the Splash Park, please speak to staff on your arrival. 

A Changing Places facility is available in the park which includes a hoist, a RADAR key is required if you wish to use this facility. 


Can I take food or drink into the Splash Park? 

No, please do not bring any food, drink or glass into the Splash Park. 

Food and drinks can be eaten at the picnic benches located around the park. 

Food and drinks can be purchased at the kiosks nearby. 


What COVID-19 measures are in place? 

Online booking system. 

Improved queuing and waiting system to help maintain social distancing. 

Increased cleaning to help keep the facilities clean and visitors safe. 

Extra hand sanitisation stations for visitors. 

One-way system for the Splash Park. 

Good to Go scheme accredited.

      Public Transport Directions

      Pay and display car parking is available in Promenade Park, if you are using a sat nav please use our postcode (CM9 5JQ).

      Additional pay and display car parking is available in Maldon town centre which is within walking distancing of the park. For information about parking please visit the Maldon District Council website.

      You can get to us by public transport too, by train, make your way to Witham or Chelmsford where you can catch connecting bus services to Maldon. From there it is just a short walk to us!

      Bus travel information is available from First Essex, Hedingham buses or Stephensons of Essex.

      Rail travel information is available on the Greater Anglia website.
