About
Explore the wild coast of Essex by visiting Wallasea Island. Enjoy wonderful lanscape and skyscape views, looking across lagoons, saltmarsh and mudflats.
In winter, the sights and sounds of flocks of waders and wildfowl will surround you whilst raptors such as Marsh Harriers and Short eared owls will hunt across the grass in front of you. In summer, the reserve is filled with the sounds of Skylarks singing and the tern and gull colony calling to each other. Brown Hares can be seen across the reserve all year and Common Seals haul themselves up on the mud on the River Roach.
