About

The 19th Maldon beer and cider festival is heading back to The Swan Hotel Bar & Grill's Cygnet Room (which is behind the Swan Hotel on Maldon High Street) following such positive comments last year.

The festival opens its doors on Wednesday the 10th April, with the last day on Saturday 13th April. The festival will be open from 12noon until 11pm every day. This years commemorative festival glass features the D-Day landings.

The beer festival will have up to 48 ales on offer, of which 12 will be from local brewers, and 12 ciders. Food will be available.

A reminder that "hat" day will take place. This is a feature of the Great British Beer Festival at Olympia, where the middle day, Thursday, has always been hat day. So dust out your berets, tin helmets and boaters as we celebrate the liberation of Europe.

The festival this year is being sponsored by our local breweries, Crouch Vale Brewery, Mighty Oak Brewery and Wibblers Brewery along with The Cap & Feathers Tillingham. As part of the festival, there will be collections for a local charity, for this year's festival the charity will be Royal British Legion Maldon & Heybridge Branch. The festival this year remembers the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day landings.

The Royal British Legion provide lifelong support to serving and ex-serving personnel and their families. Their support starts after one day of service and continues through life, long after service is over.

More information will be available on the CAMRA branch website at: www.maldonanddengiecamra.co.uk.
