About

Creative textiles celebrate the sixties in this interesting exhibition. Multiple techniques, to suit the subject matter, include stitch, applique and needle felting, as well as machine and hand embroidery. All very colourful, they are presented by the membership of the Eastern Region Textiles Forum.
The sixties was the decade of revolt against main stream approaches to art and culture and evolved into a wholesale interrogation of modern society, and art. The sixties began bleak and restricted but by the end, people were full of hope and optimism for a better future. This was a defining decade for Britain.
