Present and Past is an exhibition by local artist Jacky Bakowski at The Driftwood Gallery at Photovogue, 145c Connaught Avenue CO13 9AH. Jacky has lived in Colchester for the past 40 years. Having made a career as a primary school teacher she recently attained a Fine Art degree - a long-lived ambition. Jacky says "I am at heart a painter, though have recently been experimenting more with print but in a painterly way, reflecting my interest in working with colour. My paintings are often representations of lonely places, delineated by bands of colour, but my prints are more eclectic and can be more representational.
However, I do not wish to be restricted by either of these disciplines and am interested in exploring image making in any form."
