About

One of the highlights of the Burnham Art Trail is Art of the Quay, an event that promotes the visual arts and offers the opportunity to meet local artists and makers, discuss their work, watch demonstrations or try a hand at developing new art-based skills.

This year three wonderful artists will be demonstrating their skills. Sue Spiers and John Green will be painting landscapes ‘en plain air’ while Sue Hodgson will be demonstrating the art of portraiture.

Displaying skills and knowledge in other creative disciplines will be ceramicist Lucy Fowler and fine art embroiderer Jess Cox with perennial favourite of the Art Trial Charlie Bran demonstrating his broad knowledge of Lino printing and paper making.

On both Sundays Maldon-based singers, The Mains’l Haul Shanty Crew will be joining with  'Meg & Friends', who play English Traditional music on a selection of vintage acoustic instruments. Together they are collectively known as ‘The Potato Badgers’.
